Texas Coastal Coalition Supports EPA Permitting of Bluewater Texas Offshore Terminal

PORT ARANSAS – Today, the Texas Coastal Coalition (TCC), an education and advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the economic and environmental prosperity of the Coastal Bend, released the following statement regarding the EPA’s public hearing on its proposed permit actions for the Bluewater Texas Terminals LLC:

“The Bluewater Texas Terminal is the commonsense alternative to the Port of Corpus Christi’s plans to develop a massive crude oil export terminal on Harbor Island in Port Aransas. Such industrialization of Port Aransas would devastate critical wildlife habitats and threaten the local businesses and livelihoods that depend on a healthy ecology and tourism economy. “This offshore option, would represent a win for our oil and gas industry, our ecology and our tourism economy.”
